The project consists demolition of seven garages within the existing Wellington Road Estate and design for two new three-storey townhouses within the garages’ previous footprint. Piled raft was used for the foundations due to the soil conditions and the adjacent deep basement.
Traditional approach was used for the superstructure – load bearing masonry with local steel members and timber floor plates. The lateral stability is provided by masonry shear walls.
